Finding cruelty free beauty products that work well can often be a daunting task. So many make-up and beauty brands are choosing to still test on animals, so shopping for make-up can be really disheartening. I was very disappointed when Nars recently revealed they would no longer be a cruelty free brand, as they are a company I have been loyal to for many years. However fortunately there are many brands out there that are cruelty free. Today i’m going to be talking about three base products I use daily; a tinted moisturiser, a powder and a face palette.
First up, Pixi’s H2O skin tint. This is a great product, it’s hydrating without being shiny and has a decent amount of buildable coverage for a tinted moisturiser. Sometimes it can be difficult to find a tinted moisturiser that isn’t too dark for my very fair skin but Pixi’s skin tint comes in three shades and the lightest shade is perfect for me! I have repurchased this product and definitely will do again!
I then usually powder on top of this with a light layer of the pixi colour correcting powder foundation. This is another great product that can be used on its own or over a liquid base. Pixi products are available online and also in marks and spencers!
Last but certainly not least is this gorgeous new palette from Urban Decay’s Jean Michel Basquiat collection. It includes a matt bronze/contour colour, two blushes and a highlight. The bronze colour is great for contouring and although it appears very dark, it can be used sparingly for a natural look even on fair skin. Unexpectedly, the blush I love the most is the darker colour ‘NOHO’, which is a purple-pink colour and gives a great natural flush to the cheeks. The highlight is gold and very shimmery – perfect for the summer!
